About Me
My name is Teresa Hawk, and I am a fifth-year honors student majoring in biomedical engineering, minoring in computer science, and completing an Master of Engineering in mechanical engineering. I am stoked to get to share my college journey with you!
My motivation for studying biomedical engineering stems from the various medical complications that my family and I experience. Medical technology and devices have revolutionized care, and I hope to one day give back to the profession that has given my family and myself so much. I fell in love with coding while taking my freshman engineering courses and want to implement my computer science minor into a future working with devices and software for medical treatment.

I participate in a number of organizations and experiences at UC. I am a leader in H2O church, which allows me to walk in my faith alongside some amazing people and help others do the same. I am president of Enable Cincy, where I organize and support project teams creating prosthetics and assistive devices using 3D printing for those in need. I also am an active member in CEAS Ambassadors, BMES, and Phi Sigma Rho.
A passion of mine is outreach. I have travelled twice to Honduras on mission trips and love to get out and serve the community. I will be travelling to Costa Rica in May for another mission trip! I have participated in and ran Bearcat Coders, an initiative through ACM-W to tutor high school student at Hughes High School in their IT courses.
Finally, family is one of my most important values. My family members have always been my biggest supporters and they have shaped who I am today.
